Financial Security

ALICE is at the Heart of our Work, because ALICE is the Heart of our Community

16% of Arkansans live below the federal poverty line (FPL). 31% are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE), meaning they earn an income above the FPL but far below the current cost of living. ALICE works hard, often holding multiple jobs to make ends meet. By connecting ALICE to education, job training, and financial tools, we can help create pathways to financial security. Alongside our partners, we support people on their journeys to stable housing, life-sustaining wages, and asset-building, such as savings accounts and homeownership.

2024-25 Funded Partners

Program Spotlight: ALICE@Work

ALICE workers earn above the Federal Poverty Line yet struggle to afford basic expenses - despite often working two or three jobs. In a world where hardworking individuals struggle to afford life’s essentials, it’s time to take action and make a change. ALICE@Work provides a framework for companies to be on the leading edge of making change for ALICE.

We’re proud to be the lead partner in bringing ALICE@Work to Arkansas alongside the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. We utilize individualized data reports, comprehensive course curricula, and self-guided action plans to help businesses understand the daily challenges of their ALICE employees and implement internal policies and practices to address them.
