Important Update: SHAF Funds for Arkansas Customers Are Depleted
Arkansas and Texarkana, TX Customers: As of January 27, 2026, all funds for the Summit Heating Assistance Fund (SHAF) for Arkansas and Texarkana customers have been fully distributed and are no longer available for the 2026 heating season.

- As of January 27, 2026, all funds for the Summit Heating Assistance Fund (SHAF) for Arkansas and Texarkana customers have been fully distributed and are no longer available for the 2026 heating season.
- Program funds will assist Summit Gas customers ONLY in Arkansas, Texarkana, and Oklahoma to pay past due natural gas bills up to $200 per year through March 31, 2026, or until funds have been depleted. For more information, you can reach us at shaf@heartaruw.org.
- Those interested in applying must show proof they are a Summit customer in Arkansas, Texarkana, or Oklahoma. Customers can show proof by providing the 12-digit account number, which is shown on Summit Utilities billing statement, located at the top corner right of the invoice. Summit Utilities Account numbers begin with 210. They must also have a copy of a past-due bill.
- The applicant's name must match the account holder's name. If applying on their behalf, you can indicate this and provide your relationship. Be sure to enter the account holder's details on the application.
- To receive funds, accounts must be in past due status but cannot be shut off. Account must be in active status.
- Customers of AOG should contact the United Way of Fort Smith Area at shaf@unitedwayfortsmith.org.
- The Summit Heating Assistance fund cannot assist with making payments toward inactive accounts, or provide payment assistance toward deposits, connect fees, etc.
