United Way started right here in
Little Rock over 80 years ago to increase the effectiveness of a group of
local charities. Since then we've seen many successes, and we've grown as
Central Arkansas has grown.
United Way knows our community, and we can identify our most pressing needs. |
United Way has developed a network of relationships with citizens, local businesses,
governmental agencies, faith-based groups, and other nonprofits to build
collaborations that have a positive and lasting impact in our community.
United Way can often leverage your gift by matching it with other funding
sources. |
Our long track record proves that we
are a solid, fiscally accountable organization dedicated to distributing
funds where they will do the most good in our community. We also work with
the agencies we support to ensure that they are maximizing the funding we
provide. |
When you support United Way, you are helping to provide:
 |
- Disaster recovery assistance
- Safe places for children to play and learn
- Job training for people who want to work
- Hot meals and transportation for seniors
- Food and shelter for families facing hard times
- Therapy for children with disabilities
- Crisis intervention for victims of violence
- Character-building programs for youth

We invite you to learn more about the United Way’s agencies and
special
projects, and hope that you will decide to
contribute to our mission of
improving the quality of life for Central Arkansans.

Message from President & Chief Professional Officer, John R. Nazzaro:
Our United Way is dedicated to making this community a better place for all
of us. Through your gifts and involvement, we support over 100 health and human
service programs at our family of agencies. We invite you to ask
our staff any questions
that you might have about the United Way, our programs, policies, and practices.
We firmly believe that the more you know about this United Way, the more likely
you will want to become part of our organization, both as a
donor and as a
volunteer.
